Call of Duty Mobile is out now - and yes, people are playing on PC with mouse and keyboard

You can't touch this.

Call of Duty Mobile is out now in the west - and, as expected, people are playing with a mouse and keyboard.

The free-to-download first-person shooter, which is now available in all countries and regions where Google Play and App Store are supported with the exception of mainland China, Vietnam and Belgium, is a solid recreation of its console and PC big brother - and even comes with a battle royale mode. It's a mash-up of Modern Warfare and Black Ops of sorts, with characters, maps (including Nuketown) and weapons from both sub-series included.

Here's how it looks:

There is a sense that you're never sure if you're playing against humans or bots, or a combination of the two. And there's also the concern that you're never sure if you're playing against someone using a mouse and keyboard.

Call of Duty Mobile, which was developed by Chinese gaming giant Tencent but is published by Activision, has been in beta form throughout 2019 and during that time players were able to play with mouse and keyboard. It seems little has changed for this full, global launch. And since Call of Duty Mobile came out good and proper there's been an explosion of tutorial videos from YouTubers explaining how to play with mouse and keyboard and on a bigger screen.

I've seen plenty of people who have struggled to get mouse and keyboard working for Call of Duty Mobile, but clearly there are a lot of people playing the game this way. The GameLoop emulation, which looks like the most popular way to play Call of Duty Mobile, says on its website it's seen over 200,000 downloads.

Playing Call of Duty Mobile with a mouse and keyboard seems like a curious thing to do when fully-fledged Call of Duty games are already available on PC, but people will always try and get an edge when it comes to video games - even against bots.

Of course, Call of Duty Mobile does not officially support mouse and keyboard, and the method via which players are playing with mouse and keyboard involves emulation. The question is, will Activision step in?
