Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse funded with 16 days to go

Backers still shooting to greenlight Beneath a Steel Sky 2.

Broken Sword creator Charles Cecil's upcoming sequel The Serpent's Curse has been fully funded on Kickstarter.

Currently the total comes to $418,498 out of its $400,00 goal, with 16 days left until its 22nd September deadline.

If it keeps at its current rate, the Kickstarter will get very close to the ultimate one million dollar stretch goal of greenlighting Beneath a Steel Sky 2, the sequel to Cecil's 1994 sci-fi adventure collaboration with Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons.

Cecil and his team at Revolution Software were already halfway through the fifth game in the globe-trotting point-and-click adventure series when they launched the Broken Sword Kickstarter. It was either that or find a publisher, which "certainly won't be as good for Revolution," explained Cecil.

Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse is slated for release in Q1 of 2013 on PC, Mac, iOS and Android.
