Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel's The Holodome Onslaught DLC dated for December

Plus a free update adding an ultra hard third playthrough.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel's second DLC expansion, the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack: The Holodome Onslaught, is set for a 16th December release on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

This add-on is based around a challenge arena where players must team up to fight impending waves of enemies. Its story is that two vault hunters, Gaige and Axton, missed out on the events during the core game and want Athena to recount the story of what happened, but to pretty much keep it to the good parts. The violent parts.

By embarking on these Holodrome arena challenges you'll be able to unlock new class mods, weapons and skins.

This add-on also includes the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack, which raises the level cap to 60, meaning you can attain a total of 10 new skills points should you reach the new maximum.

The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack: The Holodome Onslaught is included in a Season PAss, although it can also be purchased a la carte for $9.99 (so about £7).

Even those who don't purchase the DLC will get a free update adding a third playthrough to the game entitled Ultimate Vault Hunter mode. Obviously, this makes things harder. It also adds the option to reset your campaign progress at any time.
