Blizzard pulls Overwatch hero after latest patch turns him invisible

Nobody's a soldier, right now.

The Overwatch beta received a big patch today that amongst other things introduced competitive play and replaced that Tracer victory pose.

But, more amusingly, Blizzard was forced to temporarily remove character Soldier: 76 after a new skin allowed players to turn him invisible. This, as you'd imagine, was not intentional.

The update added two new skins: Commando: 76 and Night Ops: 76. Although it's not clear which one caused the invisibility bug, both sound appropriately sneaky.

Blizzard said it couldn't fix the problem by simply removing the troublesome skin, either. So the developer had to pull Solider: 76 from the game.

"While not ideal," explained Blizzard in a forum post, "unfortunately the same issue that's causing the unintended invisibility is also preventing us from disabling the skin on its own.

"We're currently working a new patch and hope to have it implemented this week. Apologies for any inconvenience in the meantime, but thanks so much for helping us test!"

Invisible Overwatch hero disappears.
