Bit.Trip Fate dated for WiiWare

Plus, developer working on 3DS title.

The next entry in the Bit.Trip series, Bit.Trip Fate, arrives on WiiWare on 25th October in the USA, developer Gaijin Games has announced.

European gamers will have to wait a little longer though. Gaijin's Alex Neuse told Eurogamer, "I don't have a EU date yet. I hope to soon. Keep watching our blog."

Whereas the previous game in the series, Bit.Trip Runner, was a rhythm platformer, Fate is a side-scrolling shooter. The penultimate title in the six game series sees CommanderVideo take on the evil Mingrawn Timbletot in an effort to save the universe.

"In Bit.Trip Fate, CommanderVideo discovers what his corporeal fate is and realises that it's unavoidable," Neuse explained to Eurogamer last month.

Fate also sees the Bit.Trip debut of new sidekicks Junior Melchkin and CommandgirlVideo, while Meat Boy from forthcoming indie platformer Super Meat Boy puts in a cameo appearance.

In other Gaijin Games news, the developer recently told Nintendojo that its first post-Bit.Trip title will be for the 3DS.

"[Gaijin Games] just recently got our 3DS dev kit, and we're working on a 3DS project but we're not quite ready to say exactly what it is yet," revealed Neuse. "It will be a Gaijin awesome game."
