Binary Domain release date Feb 2012

Updated with official Sega comment.

Update: Sega has told Eurogamer that the Binary Domain February 2012 date will be for all territories.

Original story: Sega plans to release Binary Domain, an exciting sci-fi shooter from the makers of Yakuza, in February 2012.

The date is printed loud and proud at the end of a new video, which sets the story for the game.

It's the future, and a company called AMADA has crossed bounds and created intelligent robots. But oops those robots want their own piece of the pie, and so grow in power silently, disguised as humans. Then one day they strike, threatening humanity's very existence.

You're part of the resistance. "Together we fought for our survival," the voice over on the video tells us.

"Together" being the key word, as the focus of Binary Domain will be online teamwork.

Binary Domain is being made for PS3 and Xbox 360 by Yakuza series director Toshihiro Nagoshi.

"Yes the robots are dead."
