Bank Holiday weekend plans!

Halo! Blur! UFC! POP! Retro! Etc!

Good afternoon. Speaking as editor of Eurogamer - as a man who scowls at emails with the subject line "holiday request", and a man who regards the Christmas break as a prison of inactivity - I am not in favour of Bank Holidays.

However, it turns out there is one on Monday, and my attempts to gain a super-injunction against it have failed, so I have been forced to allow a few people not to spend their every waking moment working on the website on that day.

Fortunately, I was able to bludgeon loads of extra content out of them in the meantime, so if you, like me, regard weekends as damaged goods next to the trembling, spotless chastity of the far purer Monday-to-Friday, you can come back over the long weekend (spit) to read stuff anyway.

What stuff? Well, we'll have the latest news from the US, plus Digital Foundry's take on the Halo: Reach beta technology, more from GamesIndustry.biz columnist Rob Fahey on the second-hand games trade, a retrospective of an unloved gem, and hands-on previews of games like UFC 2010 and Blur's single-player mode.

We'll also post some more captured gameplay footage from the likes of Halo: Reach and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, and I dare say our illustrious forumites will be keeping things real 24/7 over in forumland.

Really, there's very little reason to think of this as a Bank Holiday Weekend. Hopefully we'll see you back here for some of it. Love and hugs!
