Back to the Future not for Wii

Emmet sadness.

Telltale won't be releasing the episodic Back to the Future series on Wii for the time being.

Community manager Alan Johnson told Nintendolife there are "no plans" to adapt the series for Wii "at this time".

Telltale's Back to the Future: The Game series will, however, come to PC, Mac, PS3 and iPad. Desktop platforms PC and Mac will play first sometime in December. The other versions will follow.

The entire series can be pre-ordered from Telltale now for $24.95. Do so and you'll get a free copy of Puzzle Agent. Of that money, $1 will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Fox starred as Marty McFly in the Back to the Future films.

Fox won't be reprising his role as the body-warmer-sporting youth of the films. Instead, AJ Locascio will take the part. Christopher Lloyd will fill the shoes of Doc again, though, fresh from his triumphant turn in Piranha 3D, and BTTF screenwriter Bob Gale is helping think up a story.

Telltale has become the go-to developer for adapting well-known IP such as Wallace & Gromit and Monkey Island into an efficient episodic adventure series. Telltale's games span a variety of platforms - PSN, Wii and XBLA included - and the studio typically alternates between them. Nevertheless, the growing popularity of iPad and its natural affinity for point-and-click-style adventure games may make that a regularly-supported platform going forward.
