If Fallout and Stardew Valley had a baby, it would be Atomicrops

Green fingers.

If Fallout and Stardew Valley had a baby, this would be it. Developed by Danny Wynne, Toby Dixon and Joonas Turner and published by Raw Fury, Atomicrops is a roguelite farming simulator where you must "cultivate and defend the last farm in the post-apocalypse wasteland".

The reveal trailer has just been released, and it's packed with charming animations and... oh... oh wait, never mind.

According to the Atomicrops website, players can farm "ultra-GMO" crops, recruit friendly pets, marry one of the remaining citizens in a nearby town, find upgrades throughout the world, and kill "post-nuclear pests" hoping to have a nibble on your crops. Sounds like a lot of dark humour and chaos, perfect.

The trailer shows a little gameplay, but we're yet to see anything truly detailed on the mechanics. It looks like the game could be fairly pacey at points - simultaneous farming and fighting will take some mastering. I thought gardening was supposed to be relaxing?

If you want to get your hands dirty with radioactive soil, you'll have to survive a little longer through 2019 first. The game arrives sometime later this year, and will come to PC and console. Exactly which platform is still unknown, although Switch seems like a fair beet.
