Wii reclaims Japanese sales throne

Nintendo all smiles again.

Nintendo's Wii and DS one-two punch thumps the Japanese chart once more, as the DS finishes a clear 20,000 units above PSP and the Wii beats PS3 by around 6000 sales.

Even the Xbox 360 falls back into the old routine of selling fewer units than PS2, according to Media Create sales for the week ending 10th May (translated on NeoGAF).

Nintendo claims seven of the top 10 spaces in a chart devoid of notable new entries. Of the top 50, Nintendo platforms occupy 36 places. The PSP shows up seven times, the PS3 five times and the PS2 twice. Xbox 360 games are nowhere to be seen.
