Fan of pistols? Create the best Black Ops: Cold War and Warzone AMP 63 loadout with our class set up recommendation.

The AMP 63 in Warzone introduces itself as a full-auto pistol with a hefty fire rate.

With a damage output and bullet velocity that feels close to SMGs in nature, the AMP 63 first debuted in Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War a few weeks into Season 3 Reloaded - and requires to complete a specific challenge to unlock.

This weapon comes with a considerable time to kill, but the early Season 4 balance update increased several stats, from maximum damage to second damage range, making it a more viable option as long as you pair it with the right attachments.

This page will cover how to unlock the AMP 63 in the quickest way possible, and our the best AMP 63 loadout and AMP 63 class recommendations to capitalize in its potential as a secondary weapon.

How to unlock the AMP 63 in Warzone

Debuting during the first half of Season 3 Reloaded, the AMP 63 can be acquired through the use of a shop Blueprint or in-game challenge.

To unlock the AMP 633 in Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War, you must kill 5 enemies in 20 different matches using pistols.

It's a rather straightforward challenge compared to others in the past, but also one of the most time-consuming. 20 matches is a big number, and will likely take you around a full afternoon or so, depending on your skill and mode of preference. Luckily, you don't have to worry about killstreaks, headshots, or anything alike.

To speed things up we recommend playing Die Hardpoint in Black Ops: Cold War, as well as any other Team Deathmatch playlists of your liking (Nuketown 24/7 is always a good shout).

Die Hardpoint has a five minute cap from the get-go, and will have you capturing and defending certain areas of the map. The twist is that every time you kill an enemy, you can chain more deaths to gain temporary perks, from faster fire rate to better handling. But there is also a 30 second timer - if you don't manage to continue the chain streak and extend it before it runs out, you will explode in place.

Considering you only need 5 kills and that respawn is pretty much instant, this was by far the fastest way to complete the challenge. Just know that the initial five minute cap will most likely be delayed during the match, but not for long.

If you're opting for Warzone, you should focus on Plunder mode first and foremost. It will save you tonnes of time compared to battle royale as you can revive throughout the match. As a third option, if you own Zombies the challenge will ask to get 400 critical kills instead (headshots) using pistols, which may take way less time in modes like Outbreak.

Once you've completed the challenge, the game will let you know of your new weapon in the rewards page after the match. From there, just head to the loadout tab and equip the weapon in the secondary slot.

Best Warzone AMP 63 loadout and attachments

Below are our recommendations for an optimal AMP 63 loadout:

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 7.2" Reinforced Heavy
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Ammunition: STANAG 25 Rnd Mag
  • Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap

The Sound Suppresor might seem like a tempting choice considering the buff it received during Season 3 Reloaded, but we're opting for classic choice of the Agency Suppressor instead. This will improve bullet velocity, increase damage range and also add vertical recoil control. Aim down sight time is affected, but not by a big margin - plus, we'll compensate it later in the build.

Onto the barrel. We picked the 7.2" Reinforced Heavy. This is the best pair for the muzzle, as it will increase bullet velocity even further, as well as boosting both effective damage range and strafe speed. It will decrease both vertical and horizontal recoil control, but at least we're compensating one of the two with the previous attachment already.

Instead of an optic or an underbarrel, the AMP 63 really benefits from a laser. We went for the Tiger Team Spotlight option, increasing both aim walking move and overall move speed, which is key for a secondary arm.

Now, ammunition. This is key since the magazine will be somewhat limited from the get-go, for which the STANAG 25 Rnd Mag helps greatly. It comes with the cost of reducing ADS time and reload quickness, but this won't be a big worry - more bullets means less time reloading in the grand scheme of things.

Finally, you're gonna want to opt for the Serpent Wrap for the rear grip. The weapon's ADS time has been affected by the overall build, and this will compensate that to make it much less drastic.

Best Warzone AMP 63 class setup, perks and equipment

Here's our choices for the best items - such as equipment and Perks - to make the best AMP 63 class setup in Warzone:

  • Perk 1: Quick Fix (Unlocks at level 42)
  • Perk 2: Ghost (Unlocks at level 24)
  • Perk 3: Amped (Unlocks at level 1)
  • Primary: AK-47 (Unlocks at level 7)
  • Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor (Unlocks at level 30)
  • Lethal: Proximity Mine (Unlocks at level 43)

It won't be long until you start taking down enemies in Warzone with the AMP 63, so beginning health regeneration immediately after with Quick Fix makes for a great combo. If you're not sure about your other options until you reach level 42, E.O.D. will help to mitigate damage from fire and non-killstreak explosives until then.

As per usual we would recommend opting for Overkill, but since the AMP 63 is a secondary weapon, Ghost is the perfect option here. Backing the loadout with the AK-47 assault rifle, you'll be able to cover all fronts with a fast fire rate and long damage range, while staying undetected by UAVs, Heartbeat Sensors and Radar Drones thanks to the perk.

Since you'll be looking to switch to your secondary as quickly as possible, we highly recommend going for Amped as your third perk, increasing the speed of said action.

Moving onto equipment, we opted to use the Heartbeat Sensor ourselves. This will guarantee a 50 meter radius of visibility so no one can sneak up on you. In the worst case scenario, at least you'll be prepared for it.

As for Lethal, we've been very fond of the Proximity Mine; it's quick to deploy and will always cover your back, especially if you place it at the side of entrances or stairs. Lastly, it also serves as a good alarm for upcoming enemies, in case you don't get to pay attention to the Heartbeat Sensor on time.
