The Witcher confirmed for consoles

Out in autumn 2009 on PS3 and 360.

Atari has confirmed most of the details leaked in a video over the weekend concerning a console version of The Witcher.

It's actually subtitled Rise of the White Wolf though, and it's due out for PS3 and Xbox 360 in autumn 2009.

Speaking at an event today, where the publisher confirmed it would continue with several of its dormant properties, Atari said the original story is in place but the rest has been rebuilt from the ground up.

This includes a contextual combat system of the kind described by game designer Jakob Stilinsky in the leaked video. Check out our previous report for more detail.
