Star Trek movie stuff in PS Home today

Enterprising plans for rest of April.

Paramount Pictures and Sony are bringing the new Star Trek movie into PlayStation Home.

Starting today, there will be a video greeting by director JJ Abrams to watch plus a brand new trailer for the film, which stars British funny-man Simon Pegg as Scotty.

Then, from 23rd April, there will be Starfleet costumes and t-shirts to deck avatars out in, according to Kotaku.

But before that, on 20th April, fans will be able to join Abrams and Star Trek stars Chris Pine (Kirk) and Zachary Quinto (Spock) for a live Q&A session inside PlayStation Home. Selected press will ask the questions from 4pm GMT, and the event will be webcast on the Star Trek PlayStation Home website.

Star Trek opens in cinemas here on 8th May. Eurogamer's Johnny Minkley - friend to the stars - went to watch at a media premiere last night.

"Top of the Spocks," was his conclusion. "The audience (hangers-on and media scum like me) even burst into applause at the end. Think Star Trek done as Star Wars (in a good way).

"Great fun, even considering the criminal exclusion of Shatner. Bertie would make a great Vulcan," he added, making me blush.
