SEGA dates Bayonetta for Europe

Due here moments into the New Year.

SEGA has decided that 8th January is a good time to release third-person action romp Bayonetta in Europe. The US will play the game a few days earlier from 5th January.

That's on both PS3 and Xbox 360, by the way.

Developed by Platinum Games (MadWorld, God Hand, Okami), Bayonetta follows the eponymous witch Bayonetta as she battles against the angels, shooting guns from her feet and using her hair to undress herself, conjuring outrageous special powers. It's absolutely bonkers.

Bayonetta launched in Japan yesterday and picked up full marks from regional super-magazine Famitsu on Xbox 360, while the PS3 version managed 38/40.

Eurogamer's Digital Foundry blog examined the demo differences between the two platforms earlier this month.

Bayonetta is another of the top titles filling the halls of the Eurogamer Expo 2009 this week. The London show, at Old Billingsgate, gets underway at 11am today. The Expo runs tomorrow as well and finishes each night at 8pm.

Tickets are technically sold out, but we will try and squeeze a few more in from 1pm. Tickets are £6.
