Here's a quartet of great action RPGs in the GOG weekend sale

Warhammer: Chaosbane, Lords of the Fallen, The Surge 2, and Grime, all for cheap.

With the amount of new PC games launching every year, you'd be forgiven for missing a few gems along the way. Also, buying too many new games at full price can get pretty expensive, so it's understandable if you have a wish list of games you didn't want to pay full price for.

If you're not playing Elden Ring anytime soon, you might want to check out the GOG weekend sale and save big on some cheaper action RPGs. Ahead, we've highlighted four of our top picks from the sale that will be great to play over the weekend.

Warhammer: Chaosbane Slayer Edition

Warhammer: Chaosbane Slayer Edition is set in an Old World ravaged by war and dominated by magic. You must choose from six different classes and rise up to fight the Chaos Lords. Chaosbane is the first action RPG set in the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world, and has a big range of enemies with over 70 monsters aligned with the Chaos gods and epic boss battles to boot. The game can be played single-player or with up to three others in local or online co-op. The Slayer Edition also unlocks all the DLC for the game, and is reduced by 75 per cent down to just £8.79!

Lords of the Fallen Game of the Year Edition

In Lords of the Fallen you play as Harkyn, a convicted sinner, rejected by society and cast out of the light. You have been tasked with saving humanity from the Demonic Rhogar Legion who have returned from their dark realm, driven by a foul hunger for innocent spirits. Lords of the Fallen is a fast-paced action RPG with a complex and satisfying melee combat system where weapons, armour and skills directly influence the enemy's speed and attacks. Choose between three different classes and fully customise each to take on the Dark Lords. On sale now, the game is just £3.59, an absolute bargain.

The Surge 2

Set in the sprawling, devastated city of Jericho The Surge 2 is filled with hardcore and brutal melee combat. Fight against armour-clad soldiers that are enforcing martial law, and against rampaging robots, all while under the threat of an expanding nano storm that is approaching the city. Hack and slash parts off your opponents to steal valuable equipment that will make you stronger along with an arsenal of weapons, armours, abilities, implants, and drones to further build your character. This one is a lot of fun to jump into and is reduced by over £20, down to £6.79.

Grime

Grime is a very surreal but very engaging side-scrolling action RPG that gives you a lot of different ways to play the game. Set in an unfamiliar world, you must explore your surreal surroundings, absorb the many enemies you encounter, and use their own traits against them as you let yourself become far more than you once were. With unique skill progression, living weapons that are made from enemies you've defeated, and dynamic combat featuring parrying and jump-attacks, there are so many ways to take on the menacing bosses in the game. This is a real underrated gem and well worth the £14.69 price tag.
