Resi 5 demo coming to Live this month

No PSN version, by the looks of things.

Capcom has announced a demo of Resident Evil 5 is coming to Xbox Live on Monday 26th January.

It'll feature two levels - Assembly Place and Shanty Town - and you'll be able to try out two-player co-op and voice chat. The press release tells us to expect "hordes of bloodthirsty infected Majini enemies", including the Chainsaw Majini and Majini Executioner, plus "a few puzzles to round out the action".

You can play on your own with AI support, or with a friend over Xbox Live. There's also an offline split-screen option. And you can choose from a classic Resi control system "or switch to the newer "Action" controls inspired by games like Gears of War 2 and Halo 3".

Capcom is also releasing a new trailer for the game via Live tomorrow. It's in glorious high-definition and has only previously been shown at the Tokyo Game Show last October.

Looks like it's bad news for PS3 owners. There's no mention of Sony's console or PSN anywhere on the press release, so it looks like both the demo and trailer will be exclusive to Xbox 360. Capcom refused to clarify, with a spokesperson simply stating, "We have nothing further to add at this time."

Resident Evil 5 will be released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on 13th March.
