Shiny Eevee and best Eevee moveset recommendations in Pokémon Go

How to get the most out of August's Community Day.

Eevee is the focus of August 2021 Community Day in Pokémon Go, which will sees the highly adaptable Pokémon have increased spawns across an entire weekend.

Why two entire days? That's because there are a handful of Eevee evolutions to unlock - allowing you to not only complete a number of Pokédex entries, but also track down the shiny version of the spotlighted Pokémon. Can you get a shiny of each individual evolution in time?

After you've captured the best Eevee you can, you'll most likely want to evolve it and ensure they know the best moveset available. Again, there are a lot of options out there - but we'll try and help you decide what to go for.

Below, you'll be able to find a preview of shiny Eevee and Eevee's best moveset, so you can decide what to do with all those Eevee evolutions.

Eevee moves and best moveset recommendation in Pokémon Go explained

There are a number of Eevee evolutions available, each with their own respective movesets to suit their type.

To keep it simple, we've put our recommendations into a table below, alongside the various Community Day exclusive moves available during the event:

* Last Resort will be available to all Eevees caught or hatched during the event.

Eevee on its own is not a very competitive Pokémon - there are far better normal-types out there - but know that, like starter Pokémon which often frequent Community Day events, the evolutions are often very competitive in their respective types, and are good budget-friendly options to round off your teams.

However, as seen in the table above, unlike most Community Days it's not the case that the event-exclusive move is the best for each evolution. If you do change your mind after the event and want to try one of the unique moves, however, remember an Elite Charged TM will enable you to select it later.

The World of Wonders season has come to Pokémon Go, which has brought Rediscover Kanto and Sustainability Week, along with the World of Wonders quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.

What does shiny Eevee look like in Pokémon Go?

Community Days in Pokémon Go are, due to the increased spawn rate, the perfect opportunity to hunt down the shiny version of a Pokémon.

You're far more likely to find a shiny version of the highlighted Pokémon on its Community Day - not only because the shiny rate will be higher, but catching more of the same type increases the likelihood of finding one too.

It's easy to tell when you've found a shiny Pokemon because the encounter will begin with a flurry of stars, a 'shiny' icon will appear next to its name, and its colouring will be different.

Shiny Eevee isn't new to the game - we've had an Eevee Community Day before, back in August 2018 - so chances are you've already seen these on your travels, or even got a few shinies yourself. But here's a preview of all the shiny Eevees you can collect:

If you want to evolve a shiny Eevee and use that evolution for competitive reasons, we recommend waiting until the tailend of the Community Day to ensure you have one with the best IVs. You discover which is the best Eevee by searching your Pokémon collection using 3* and 4*.

Don't forget - you have until 10am PDT / 6pm BST (UK) on Monday to earn the exclusive move via evolution. After that, you'll have to use an Elite Charged TM.

Ultimately, Community Days are the perfect opportunities to both collect enough Candy to fully evolve a Pokémon and properly power it up. With careful planning - both in the terms of Pokémon selection and moveset - you can use this event to add some truly powerful Pokémon to your collection.
