Pokémon Go Charge Up! event research quest: How to complete each quest task and field research explained

It's time to catch some electric-type Pokémon!

Charge Up! is the first event spotlighting electric-type Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Not only does this event have exclusive field research tasks for you to complete, but there is also the Charge Up! research quest. Since this is a timed research quest though, you need to ensure you complete it before the event ends.

Charge Up! also sees the release of Tynamo, along with its evolutions, from Gen 5, the Therian Forme for Thundurus and the Mega Evolution for Manectric.

Below you'll find all of the challenges and rewards for the Charge Up! research quest. This quest does contain spoilers, so, if you want to remain surprised, we recommend skipping to the next section.

It's important to remember that this is a timed research quest, so it will only be available during the Charge Up! event itself. It will vanish forever once the event ends, taking its rewards with it, so, if you're after a specific reward, make sure you earn it before the event ends.

Charge Up! event dates and time in Pokémon Go explained

Charge Up! is an in-game event for Pokémon Go celebrating electric-type Pokémon.

Both the Charge Up! timed research and field research tasks are only available during the event, which runs from Tuesday, 16th March at 10am (local time) to Monday, 22nd March at 8pm (local time).

The Charge Up! research quest consists of four steps, with rewards for each individual challenge and overall quest step. If you want to earn all of these rewards, you need to ensure you complete the Charge Up! research quest before the end of the event itself, because, like all timed research, the questline will vanish alongside the event.

Have fun catching electric-type Pokémon!
