Eterna City, Gym Trainer locations and how to beat Leader Gardenia in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Eterna City is your next stop in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, with a Gym challenge to find the man Eterna City Gym trainer locations one of the key tasks. It follows on from Eterna Forest in your adventure.

Eterna City Pokémon, trainers and items
Eterna City is a fairly large city in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, with a few things to see and do. You can get a Friendship Checker Pokétch App from a lady in the Pokémon Center, plus several TMs from a lady in the condominiums.
Then, there's the Underground Man's house, just right of the Pokémon Center. He'll give you the Explorer's Kit and teach you how to visit the Grand Underground, a whole underground area that runs beneath the region of Sinnoh. It's an essential place to visit and explore, so take in his advice and spend as much time down there as you like.
Back on the surface, have a little explore around town, then head to the Bike Shop, in the hope of getting a bike.
As always, things aren't that simple - the owner isn't here. He's gone to the Team Galactic Building, and so that should be your next stop - but you can't get in there without Cut! Head to the Gym and take on Gardenia (tackled in the second section on this page just below!) and then come back here when you're done.
Once you can access the building with Cut, tackle the many Grunts and on the top floor you'll find Commander Jupiter with the Bike Shop owner - battle your way up there then take her down! Watch out for her Skuntank, it has some strong moves like Flamethrower. Jupiter tells you that Team Galactic are doing something nefarious, to do with researching energy and power.
After that, head to the Bike Shop to collect your reward - a bike! Choose your colour and enjoy.
In the north of town you can also find Cynthia, a mysterious woman who talks to you about some local lore, and gifts you three TMs for the move Cut - and adds the app for it to your Pokétch! Now you can finally use the move in the wild.

Eterna City Gym: trainer locations and how to beat Gym Leader Gardenia
Eterna City Gym is a Grass-type Gym, so Fire, Bug, and Flying-type moves will do well here, while Water, Rock, and Ground-type Pokémon will struggle.
The Gym challenge this time is to find all the trainers in the Gym and defeat them, one at a time. They're tucked out of sight, so here are all their locations.
Eterna City Gym trainer locations
The first trainer is found by going all the way north, then left through the trees.
The second trainer is found at the dead end in the south-west corner through the boulders.
The third trainer is behind the three lighter-coloured trees in the centre-right of the room.
The fourth trainer is in the top right corner at a dead end amongst some flowers.
After that, Gym Leader Gardenia appears on her spot at the end of the central path - heal up if you need to, then take her on!
The main things to be careful of are the move Dazzling Gleam, which does decent damage against the Dark-type Pokémon Houndoom, if you'd caught one in the Grand Underground and planned on using it here.
Gardenia can also use Super Potions when her Pokémon are low, and her Roserade's Grass Knot move will do some hefty damage against heavier Pokémon too, so beware!

Defeat her and you'll get some stickers, some TMs for Grass Knot, and most importantly the Forest Badge, which lets you use Cut in the wild. Head back up to the Team Galactic Building to clear that out, collect your reward, and progress onwards on your journey - southwards, on Route 206 and 207!
You can also take a quick detour back to the Old Chateau in Eterna Forest if you like before heading south, too.
