Penny Arcade Greenhouse goes beta

Help test digital distribution service.

Penny Arcade has launched the beta version of its digital distribution service, Greenhouse.

It is billed as a place for independent developers to get their works out into the public - a bit like Steam but smaller.

So far the only game on it is the first episode of the Penny Arcade adventure: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, which, incidentally, looks really rather snazzy.

But a beta build is for testing, so there is a purposely large podcast file that you can download to help balance and tune the servers.

You can also fill in a survey, which is always rewarding.

Waddle over to the Greenhouse site for a look around.

Or, if you like, pop in to our On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness gamepage for videos, screenshots, and an interview with adventure legend Ron Gilbert, who is helping make the title.
