Old Republic combat "choreographed"

You won't be swinging "through each other".

In one of very few useful hints to seep out of the tightly-controlled unveiling of Star Wars: The Old Republic, BioWare boss Greg Zeschuk told videogaming247 that the game's combat would look "choreographed".

This, Zeschuk suggested, would contrast with the lack of physical connection in fighting that MMORPG fans have become accustomed to.

"If you recall some very specific things from the gameplay video, it was choreographed," Zeschuk said.

"One big difference, especially against the MMO space, is that typically everyone swings through each other. That’s the way it’s been done. It doesn’t look great for Star Wars."

Zeschuk said he wanted the combat to "look as though it could be taking place in a Star Wars movie".

Sounds great, in theory. We'd love to be able to see what he's talking about, but LucasArts and BioWare have yet to release the gameplay video for public viewing.

Oh well, at least Ellie saw it. Let her talk you through it in our Star Wars: The Old Republic preview.
