Konami looking for the king of Pro Evo 3

Tom's warming up already.

Konami's annual search for the best PES player is to kick off on the 19th of this month (that's September, in case you've just woken up), with the launch of The Pro Evolution Soccer 3 National League.

In order to enter the league, players are being invited to pop into their local GAME store and purchase an exclusive playable demo of the game for a mere £1.99 (redeemable against the full game).

Upon winning a game within the demo, a special code will be displayed which can then be entered at the 66 participating GAME stores across the country, or via www.pesleague.co.uk. The very 'best' players will then be entered into individual leagues, with matches played in-store over eight long months from November to June next year.

The "ultimate champion" will apparently walk away with "a number of very special football and video game-related prizes". A ticket to see England in the Euro 2004 final would be nice...

The most recent PES 2 tournament final was played out at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge ground, with East London's David Sefah claiming the hallowed prize. We're surprised Roman Abramovich didn't sign him.
