Condition Zero prepares for Steamy date, Half-Life 2 on track for summer

Valve comments.

Following hell's descent into sub-zero temperatures earlier this week, Valve's Doug Lombardi has confirmed that Counter-Strike: Condition Zero will debut on the Steam content download service at the same time as its retail debut in the States: March 23rd.

Or, as Lombardi officially put it: "CS: CZ will be available to consumers on March 23 via Steam and at retail outlets around the world." Europe will get it on the Friday, March 26th according to publisher Vivendi-Universal Games.

Lombardi was also kind enough to comment on the status of the elusive and highly anticipated Half-Life 2, which seems to have fallen off the bottom of the radar somewhat in terms of firm release estimates - although apparently it hasn't quite fallen as far as some estimates. "We are still targeting this summer for the completion of Half-Life 2," he told Eurogamer this week.
