Fire stops cheating online
Xploder no longer blows open PS2 Online titles.
Cheating device manufacturer Fire International has announced plans to revise its policy concerning online games, having previously published cheats for PS2 Online titles such as SOCOM: US Navy SEALs which had an adverse effect on the overall experience.
Speaking in a statement last week, Fire MD Jason Cooper confirmed that Fire will no longer release Xploder branded cheat systems that could give online gamers an unfair advantage, and neither will such devices appear in the GameShark devices Fire makes for North American peripherals firm Mad Catz (a deal which used to belong to rivals Datel before Mad Catz bought the brand).
"We feel that the game enhancements we create are generally used to help individual users complete or get the most out of their games. We want to protect the integrity of online gaming for all who want to play in this environment cheat-free," Mr Cooper said last week.
