National talent contest for new Dance:UK title

Seeking the stars of the future in schools, cities, and... er... Butlins.

Publisher Bigben Interactive has announced that it will be extending its Talent:UK Live touring talent contest into schools and city centre venues this autumn, to tie in with the arrival of the new Dance:UK : XL title.

The contest, which aims to find new talent from around the UK including singers, dancers, DJs, MCs and TV presenters, has already toured Butlins holiday resorts in Britain during the months of July and August.

The autumn tour will visit cities including Birmingham, Manchester and London, and rising stars judged to be talented enough will be able to take part in a grand final on Monday 20th December, where prizes will include a shot at fame for the winners, such as an opportunity to win a spot on a radio show for presenters.

Bigben's Dance:UK : XL title will be present in demo form at the autumn events, ahead of its launch in December 2004; the new version of the hugely popular dancing game includes new multi-player and party modes, as well as a host of new music tracks.

The company will also be taking the opportunity to showcase the innovative Gametrak control system, which senses player motions in order to put them more directly in control of the game. The Gametrak system received a top award at the Leipzig Game Convention in Germany last week, and both fighting game Gametrak: Dark Wind and golf title Gametrak: Real World Golf will be playable at the Talent:UK events.
