BG&E movie released

And screenshots. And plot.

As must be plain even to cranially repressed space moss, we don't exactly encourage interstellar relations here on the planet Earth. Sure, we send the odd tin can into space now and then daubed with messages about peace and love, and scrape away at the surfaces of other planets with a toothpick, but when it comes down to it we are indoctrinated from a young age to fear, and subsequently rebel against, our alien masters when they finally rain down in the seemingly inevitable future.

Ah well, why fight it? Beyond Good & Evil looks set to reinforce our alien-whooping skills, as players control a youngster named Jade, who fears that the government of her peaceful planet of Hyllis may have been involved in the relentless alien attacks which have all but driven her from her native island. Jade's on a journey to get to the core of the conspiracy, backed in part by a local rebel organisation. Slung about her are a camera and an aikido staff, useful for gathering evidence and dispensing with alien and Hyllian scum.

From what we've seen, Jade partakes of a nice usual mixture of stealth, combat and detective work, snapping shots of dirty ships' cargo and clobbering nasties, and racing Trinity-like across rooftops whilst they crumble around her under enemy fire. Thanks to Ubi Soft, you too can now catch a glimpse of the game in action, not just thanks to several new screenshots, but also in this short movie (2.2MB) of the PS2 version in action. BG&E is due out on PS2, Xbox, Cube and PC on November 21st. Unless you're truly sick of third person action adventures, we suggest you take a look.
