Chu Chu hits mobiles

We miss the Dreamcast.

Glu Mobile has announced the launch of a dedicated mobile version of acclaimed Dreamcast puzzle game Chu Chu Rocket!, demonstrating that the recent acquisition of iFone is bearing fruit as Glu takes advantage of the company's existing relationship with Sega.

Available from all European operators beginning this month, Chu Chu Rocket! Challenges players to successfully guide space mice (ChuChus) through treacherous space ports infested with preying cats (KapuKapus), attempting to avoid capture and steer the mice towards the waiting escape rockets.

The game quickly became a success on Sega's Dreamcast console, and his since been converted to GameBoy Advance. The mobile version features over 100 puzzle levels and five distinct additional gameplay modes to further expand the Chu Chu experience for fans of the original and those new to the title alike.

Kristian Segerstråle, EMEA managing director at Glu, commented: "The success of Chu Chu Rocket! on Dreamcast and Game Boy Advance has demonstrated the game's wide appeal. It's a perfect fit for the mobile platform, and fans will be drawn to the fast-paced game play and addictive puzzle action that has made the title a hit."

To celebrate the launch of Chu Chu, Glu is offering a selection of free (network WAP/GPRS browsing charges apply) themed wallpapers, screensavers and ringtones, which are available by texting CHUCHU to 60030 in the UK.
