Battlefront II Xbox content

With more due in January.

In keeping with the theme of Christmas map packs, LucasArts has released a small update for Star Wars Battlefront II on Xbox, and promised a more substantial premium content pack in January.

The Xbox-mas update adds an Assault mode Hero Free-For-All to Kashyyyk, pitting all 17 of the game's hero and villain characters (Jedi and such) against one another - something you could previously only do on Mos Eisley.

The January pack sounds more exciting, although you'll have to pay around $4.99 for the privilege of playing it. Additions will include two new playable hero characters (Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress) and four maps updated from the original Battlefront - Yavin 4: Arena, Bespin: Cloud City, Rhen Var: Harbour and Rhen Var: Citadel, with Conquest, CTF and Hero FFA modes.

LucasArts is also considering new gameplay modes for current maps, although that plan has yet to be finalised, according to the official Star Wars website, where you can also find more details and shots of all of the above.
