New map, smoke grenades.

Tripwire is planning a free update for Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, due out next Thursday July 27th.

It'll be an automatic Steam update, so you won't have to do much more than wake up in the morning to get it, and the result will be a new map, a new weapon system and some other changes.

The new map is called Lyes Krovy, described as "a brutal close-quarters fight for a German trench-and-bunker position in a forest in northern Russian".

The weapon system alluded to meanwhile is the introduction of smoke grenades - with infantry commanders now tooled with these instead of explosive grenades. Useful for creating quick cover for assault routes or to momentarily blind defenders, apparently.

Elsewhere, Tripwire's altered the tank-reloading so that you can now choose the next round to load without having to unload first, and made some changes to victory conditions. Plus, of course, there are some bug-fixes.
