Eurogamer blows own trumpet

Look how many readers we got!

Eurogamer has become the first UK games website to undergo an independent audit by ABC Electronic - and the figures are really rather impressive, even if we do say so ourselves.

During October, 977,349 unique users visited the site (let's hope one more person pops in this month to round it up nicely), and there were more than 6.7 million page impressions. Blimey.

Although no other UK games sites have agreed to have their figures audited, we reckon this makes us the most popular site in the country by quite a significant margin - and we're read by more people than the mags, too.

"These figures finally prove beyond doubt what we've known for some time," said Eurogamer bigwig Patrick Garratt.

"Eurogamer.net is not only the UK's busiest, most popular and most respected consumer games website, but is now by far the most read video games publication in Britain, print or online."

Garratt threw down the gauntlet to Eurogamer's online rivals, adding that he hoped this will "encourage our competitors to follow our lead." See you by the gates at 3.30, no blades.

Eurogamer has lots of exciting plans for the future - we're expecting a further increase in traffic this month and beyond, and new channels and features are on the way too.

Many thanks to all our readers - we literally couldn't have done it without you - and stay tuned to find out what else we're up to...
