The hits just keep on coming.

Capture The Flag. Whenever we've fired up MechAssault recently, that's what we've been doing, if only for the novelty value. And now, without warning, we've got another CTF map to play with - the tundra level Jotenheim - not to mention a few new game types and two other maps with which to try them.

The new game modes are, as IGN put it, formalised versions of various rulesets used by regular MechAssault hosts. The first two are Skirmish and Team Skirmish, which limit players to light or medium mechs, and the second two are Scout Match and Team Scout Match, which limit players to light mechs only.

The other new game type or note is Giant Killers, in which up to seven small Elementals take on one player's heavy mech, and the chap who gets in the supernova shot is then transformed into a heavy mech and the roles reversed.

Annoyingly, players of these new modes are limited to the two new maps, Demolition Town and Rock Solid, but at least you can use the other game types on them as well.
