New Ape Escape game coming

More monkey magic for PS2.

It may all be very exciting, this PS3 nonsense, but there's one announcement that got lost in the mix yesterday - and it's nothing to do with Sony's next-gen console.

Turns out that we've got something else to look forward to while we're waiting for November to roll around: a new Ape Escape game for PS2.

Titled Ape Escape: Million Monkeys, it'll feature real life environments with a futuristic twist - such Shinjuku, Tokyo's skyscraper district.

Not much else is known about the game so far, apart from the fact it'll feature giant Transformer-style robots and you'll be able to hoon around on a pair of funky looking rollerblades. Expect tanks, lasers and of course monkeys, too.

Ape Escape: Million Monkeys is due out this summer.
