Here's some news that won't have much bearing on 90 per cent of our demographic: Microsoft is all set to publish OutRun2 in North America this October. Sega is (obviously) due to do the honours over here on Sumo Digital's magnificent Xbox arcade port, but, rather like Shenmue 2, MS will be handling things abroad. You can ignore this paragraph and go and read relevant things about OutRun2 in our E3 first impressions. Here's a short version: screech, slide, buy.
Tecmo's first wodge of downloadable content for Ninja Gaiden (now known as the Ninja Gaiden Hurricane Pack: Volume I for no obvious or interesting reason) will be released for free on August 2nd, according to reports. As you may recall from our previous item on the subject (here, complete with lots of specifics), this update introduces some much tougher enemies, AI, bosses and other bits and bobs to facilitate the second round of the Master Ninja Tournament. It's not for girls. (Or normal humans, some would argue.)
Ubisoft is developing a new GBA game to release alongside the Star Wars DVD trilogy later this year, entitled Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force. It's in development at Ubisoft Montreal, and apparently consists of memorable scenes from the original trilogy, controlling Luke Skywalker, and battling alongside and against friends in co-op and competitive multiplayer modes.
