New Sims 2 expansion

'Tis the Season.

Electronic Arts is working on another expansion pack for the PC version of The Sims 2. "Seasons" will introduce all forms of weather, and lots of new contextual items and activities for your little virtual people.

Listed as "coming soon" on the EA website, Seasons sounds very outdoorsy - with snowball fights, chasing fireflies, jumping in leaf piles, going ice-skating, harvesting fruit and veg and gardening listed among the things you'll be able to get up to.

You'll have to beware though, because the conditions can change in an instant, with inclement alternatives to happy summer/winter/autumn/spring days including those racked with every-flavour storms - snowy, thunderous, and peppered with hailstones.

Fortunately there'll be new things to do - with professions in law, music, education and even journalism (BACK OFF) among those available, and various new items to match, including a heavy metal guitar.

And of course you'll be able to buy coats, gloves, earmuffs, raincoats, summer dresses and whatever else fits the season. You'll even be able to catch fresh fish and use the stuff you grow in the garden to create love potions and health boosters.

Sounds, well, exactly like a Sims expansion. You'll know if you're interested. In which case, the official website has slightly more detail and pictures of snowmen and the like.
