Namco unleashes Bounty Hounds

Okay, who brought the dog?

Namco has a new PlayStation Portable game lined up for us, going by the name of Bounty Hounds. And no, it has nothing to do with the strapline. Sorry.

A third-person sci-fi shooter, playing as leader of the titular Bounty Hounds, you're pitted against an alien race called ETI (Extraterrestrial Intelligence) over the colonization of new interplanetary territories. You must purge the area of alien scum through 40 missions using over 500 varieties of weapons, armour and items, with the ability to dual wield both melee and ranged artillery in both hands. Sounds like they're really trying.

Developer Xpec is also providing two extra modes -Trial and Vs- downloadable from a single UMD via wireless connectivity. Trial Mode provides players with a single-player mission, while Vs. Mode offers head-to-head battles with a friend.

Bounty Hounds enters the US star-system sometime around autumn. Sony Europe doesn't currently have a release date for us poor UK people still patiently waiting for the PSP launch. Seeing as importers are the dirty children of the Devil, who eat babies, kick stray dogs and consume foetus souls, and all.
