World of Warcraft Euro pre-order incentives

Blizzard brings us up to speed as the WOW open beta cripples download sites left, right and centre.

Having already detailed its pre-order plans for the US, Korean and Australian editions of World of Warcraft, Blizzard Entertainment has now announced similar incentives to precede the European release of the game - as its open beta campaign in the US continues to attract enormous interest.

Starting November 26th, fans will be able to walk into game stores and sign up to guarantee themselves a copy on launch day. And for their trouble they'll also receive a pre-order box with a special edition CD featuring music from the game and an authentication key for guaranteed access to the European Final Beta Test.

However Blizzard has yet to set a firm date for the game's actual release in Europe. The pre-order announcement is devoid even of an estimate. The game is due out in the US on November 23rd, and it's worth reiterating that anybody playing the US edition, which should be perfectly possible, will not be able to interact with players on European servers when the game launches here.

Meanwhile, Blizzard also launched its US open beta for the game recently, paralysing a number of top download sites and quickly supplying the developer's target number of players, forcing it to close down account creation options. Applications may be reopened prior to the game's US launch, the Californian dev said on its website.
