OpFlash 2 delayed?

Developer says "for sure", publisher says "mneh".

An Xbox port of PC shooter Operation Flashpoint - one of the best games of 2001 - is holding up the development of the sequel at Bohemia Interactive according to whispering websites, which report that OpFlash 2 is now due in 2005.

However a Codemasters spokesman has rebutted the suggestion that the game has slipped, telling C&VG that the original OpFlash release date wasn't made public until two or three months prior to release, and, besides that, Codies views the sequel as a "when it's done" type affair. Quite. "Codemasters and Bohemia Interactive have not made anything public yet as the project is still in the early stages of development," he said.

Then again, the genesis of the slippage news was an actual interview with Bohemia Interactive's Marek Spanel, who said that "we know for sure the game won't be released next year because there is tons of work and our plans are very ambitious".
