NCsoft unveils line-up

Space, cars, evil geniuses and wizards.

Massively-multiplayer online games developer NCsoft has revealed the titles it'll be showing off at this year's E3 - and whether you prefer your MMOs with cars, space, evil geniuses or elves, there's something for everyone.

First up is Auto Assault, combining racing, action and role-playing elements to become "the world's first car-combat MMO". And not only that, it's "the fastest, most destructive MMO ever", apparently. It's being developed using the Havok physics engine for realistic visuals, and you'll be able to destroy everything that moves - plus a few things that don't.

The game's being promoted using "the high-energy performance art and percussion beat of The Mutaytor", whoever he/she/it is, "which will interpret the world of Auto Assault in scheduled performances throughout the show." Performance art, eh? How will other publishers compete with that? PGR3 re-imagined by mime artists? NFSU: The Musical?

Anyway. Next there's City of Heroes expansion City of Villains, which was first shown at last year's E3. It's set in the Rogue Isles, a treacherous territory near to Paragon City, and your mission is to build your own criminal empire and become the ultimate baddie. And with a bit of luck, take over the world.

Space MMO Tabula Rasa sticks you right in the thick of an intergalactic war, as a bunch of brave but foolhardy rebels take on evil aliens determined to rule the universe. It's a first-person shooter with role-playing elements, essentially, and it's nothing to do with the X-Files episode of the same name, trivia fans.

And finally there's Guild Wars which, um, NCsoft has already released - so why show it off at E3? Unless there's some kind of expansion pack on the way, perhaps? NCsoft was unavailable for comment at the time of writing, but we'll bring you more news just as soon as we get it.
