Revolution knock-off for PS2

Neither PlayStation 3 or Revolution made a serious appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last week, so there was no sign of the now-legendary PS3 boomerang controller or the Revolution's freestyle. However, a company called SplitFish GameWare appears intent on uniting the pair - in a manner of speaking.

According to CNet, SplitFish had a peculiar PS2 device on display that bore an uncanny resemblance to the Revolution controller Satoru Iwata debuted at the Tokyo Game Show last September. Looking a bit like a regular Dual Shock split in half, the DualFX Controller put an analog stick, d-pad and shoulders on the left side and saddled the right with face buttons, shoulders and a gunlike design complete with a laser pointer to track its movement and allow for aiming in first-person shooters.

CNet reports that the DualFX was "very inconsistent in hands-on tests". Apparently it's due out in March for around $60. Those curious about its looks can find a picture as part of CNet's piece. To our eyes it appears quite small, and not entirely unlike the Dreamcast's fishing rod. Which, come to think of it, is high praise.
