Metallica... game...

Goodbye cruel world, it's just not worth it any more.

Furthering its plans for world domination, Vivendi Universal Games has signed a deal with "legendary" rock band Metallica for exclusive worldwide publishing rights to a multi-platform vehicular combat game featuring the band's voices and music, also furthering their plans for world domination. Perfect.

The game is to be released in 2005 and developed by Segnana, an outfit which has collaborated with the band on other interactive and online efforts. This announcement comes as the latest in a few past tales of videogame/rock crossover woe, which included, off the top of our heads, KISS Psycho Circus (which wasn't actually that bad), KISS Pinball (which was) and some Aerosmith game we were just reminded of that apparently really, really sucked.
