Star Wars conquers BF1942

Absolutely, your worship!

This weekend heralded the release of the Galactic Conquest mod for Battlefield 1942, and as we're all BF nuts in the office we thought we'd mention it. You know, in passing. You can get all the files you need from the official mod site, including the 0.1a-0.1b patch, a slight fix released to update the main 300MB-odd file. GC is also available from FilePlanet, 3D Downloads, etc.

GC has five main classes, authentic Star Wars weapons on both sides and a range of vehicles, which are obviously the most exciting aspect for many.

Although the TIE Bomber is bound to be popular, the inclusion of the AT-ST walker is sure to set hearts a-racing, as is Luke's snowspeeder and a certain heavily modified YT-1300 Corellian Freighter. Although it might help if you got out and pushed...
