Shadow Warrior source code released
3D Realms offers fellow developer types the chance to muck about with its old days ninja-'em-up.
Calling all programmers: the source code for quirky oriental-themed first-person shooter Shadow Warrior is now available on developer 3D Realms' website.
Shadow Warrior first arrived on PC in 1997 and caused controversy at the time, with some players accusing the game's characterisations of Asian people as being racist.
The source code is released under the GPL license, which means 3D Realms retain copyright. They've previously done the same thing for Duke Nukem 3D and Rise of the Triad.
The 3D Realms website advises readers to "keep your eyes open for the unveiling of our next game very soon," without bothering to mention that said "next game" is in fact Duke Nukem Forever, which everyone has known about since it was first announced approximately 47 years ago.
