DS flips you off

In a game of pinball, that is.

Developer Zen Studios is creating a new title for the Nintendo DS, called Flipper Critters, a fantasy pinball game.

Stretching across both the DS' screens, Flipper Critters' action takes place in a fantasy world with backdrop locations such as town squares, mountain valleys, castles and erm, the moon. There'll be the usual variety of pinball features, with ramps, sinkholes, bumpers, jackpots, gates and goals, as well as characters that inhabit the tables offering help, casting spells or giving the player quests and challenges to aid them in reaching new areas of the map. Zen Studios also promises a number of mini-games that apparently use the control pad, touch screen and microphone in yet unspecified ways.

There's no release date set for Flipper Critters, as the game is currently in need of a publisher to help launch, although the developer hopes to see its title on the shelves by the end of the year.
