Lost Toys to develop Stunt Car Racer Pro

Crammond enlists Battle Engine Aquila developer.

Legendary developer Geoff Crammond has announced that Guildford-based developer Lost Toys will be working with him on the recently announced update to Amiga-era title Stunt Car Racer, Stunt Car Racer Pro.

The studio will be working with Crammond's own company, Simergy, with Lost Toys providing art and graphics technology while utilising Crammond's experience in AI and physics.

Lost Toys' last project, Battle Engine Aquila on PS2 and Xbox, received significant critical acclaim when it was released earlier this year - although this wasn't matched by retail success, sadly.

"Lost Toys will be key to making Stunt Car Racer Pro a success," according to Crammond. "I've chosen them because they have a proven track record of producing great multi-format titles on time and to budget. I also believe this team understands perfectly just how strong Simergy's commitment is to quality and playability."

Although Lost Toys has never done a racing game before, the team is no stranger to the genre - director Glenn Corpes wrote the technology which powered Bullfrog's racing title, Hi Octane.

Still no word about who'll be publishing Stunt Car Racer Pro, or even which platforms it'll appear on - but we'll be sure to let you know as soon as we do.
