Ubi signs 360 Tokyo Racer

Import Tuner Challenge.

Ubisoft has signed up the latest Tokyo Xtreme Racer title, Shutokou Battle X, and plans to release it in Europe and North America later this year.

Import Tuner Challenge, as it will be known, is the third Japanese-made Xbox 360 game Ubisoft has picked up after Over G Fighters and Enchanted Arms.

Originally developed by Genki, it thrusts players into an underground racing scene rife with customisable, licensed sports cars - with tweaks available virtually anywhere on the car and authentic parts from the likes of Mazdaspeed and Veilside (aero kits) and Recaro and Bride (seats).

Set on Tokyo's highways and populated with "more than 400 unique opponents" with differing characteristics, it also allows you to take your custom car online to race head to head with other 360 owners.

The game's due out later this year, and you can find shots elsewhere on the site.
