New PAL Releases Roundup - 24/04/09

Riddick, Gundam 2, Little King's Story.

What's new? The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. But despite the efforts of Atari and Starbreeze to shed the next-gen re-skin image, the added content scarcely conceals a five year-old game which, as good as it once was, is now outdated. We still recommend a purchase, but only just.

Or there's Little King's Story for Wii, where a little king has to expand his kingdom by earning money, building houses and killing things. The game comes highly recommended.

KOEI's 'Gundam robots meet Dynasty Warriors hack-and-slash' sequel is also out for PS3 and 360. We gave it 8/10: it has even bigger robots in.

Outsider Zeno Clash, a first-person punch-up with duck-billed lady-men, launched for PC this week and is worth looking into. Developer ACE Team has vowed never to make another ambitious project like it, too - so this may be a splendid time to give your wallet-based support. Zeno Clash is GBP 14.99 on Steam.

Also of note is the Wii port of Pikmin 2 - simply because the GameCube original was so strong - and a Company of Heroes Anthology because, again, the original was superb.

And please do remember to avoid Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust, released this week on PS3. It is awful and a waste of your time. Do not be fooled by the tits.
