New F.E.A.R. maps on Live

Frighteningly free.

Lurking monstrously under the bed of Live Marketplace this afternoon is a brand new map pack for F.E.A.R.

It's completely free to download, and contains three new multiplayer arenas: Ecosphere, dressed in lush vegetation - perfect for snipers; the dilapidated corridors of Hotel; and the dark, enclosed tunnels of Sewers.

F.E.A.R. is the frightening first-person shooter released first for PC in late 2005, before being ported to 360 a year later. Those of you playing it with mouse and keyboard on your desktop have already been treated to an official expansion, and can expect the new Perseus Mandate add-on towards the end of this year.

Publisher Sierra Entertainment also announced at E3 in July that Xbox 360 owners will be treated to both PC expansions in a special F.E.A.R. Files bundle, expected in late 2007.

Head over to our F.E.A.R. 360 review to find out why it is one of the best first-person shooters on the market.
