Lana Lang in Street Fighter film?

Apparently she's Chun-Li.

Who would you like to play Chun-Li in an upcoming new Street Fighter film? Kristin Kreuk, eh? Well, good news, because an Internet website declares that Smallville's Lana Lang, aka Kristin Kreuk, will play Chun-Li in an upcoming new Street Fighter film!

We didn't even realise there was an upcoming new Street Fighter film, which shows how much we pay attention, but ComingSoon.net says Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is being directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak and is based on a Justin Marks script that focuses on "Chun-Li and her journey for justice", with filming to begin in Thailand in March.

IMDB hasn't much to say on the subject, apart from what ComingSoon.net says, amazingly, but the good news is that Bartkowiak's previous work includes the 2005 film version of Doom, so we can at least expect Karl Urban to say "oh my god" at least twice, and for there to be lots of name-checking e.g. "Jeff Balrog" and "Detective Dhalsim".

We rang Capcom up to find out whether any of the above is true but the European arm of the publisher had nothing to say about Detective Dhalsim, or even Kristin Kreuk's supposed involvement.
