Hyrule Warriors - Terrako guide: How to unlock Terrako and where to find Terrako Components in Age of Calamity explained

How to unlock the little guardian in Age of Calamity.

Terrako is the little guardian you meet at the beginning of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

This robot has an important part to play in Age of Calamity's storyline and you can eventually unlock Terrako as a playable character.

To do so, however, you need to track down a number of Terrako Components, which, for reasons we won't spoil, have been scattered across Hyrule.

How to unlock Terrako in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

If you want to unlock Terrako as a playable character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, then you need to complete two tasks.

The first is to finish the main campaign for the game, which consists of 20 story missions divided across seven chapters.

Doing this will unlock Age of Calamity's post-game content, which includes the ability to unlock Terrako.

Before you can start playing as the tiny guardian, however, you need to collect 50 Terrako Components.

How to find Terrako Components in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Terrako Components are one of the many materials in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and you'll need to collect 50 of them if you wish to unlock Terrako as a playable character.

You can earn Terrako Components by completing challenges, often quite high levelled, farming them from completing specific optional missions and, occasionally, buying them from merchants.

We recommend assigning the Terrako Components to the Sheikah Sensor, so you can quickly identify exactly which challenges, quests or other activities you need to complete to earn Terrako Components.

Use the Sheikah Sensor to find rare materials.

You'll also have to complete six Terrako Components quests, which are marked by a picture of Terrako on the map.

Each quest requires you to donate a number of rare materials, such as Star Fragments and Giant Ancient Cores, and, depending on the quest, a large amount of rupees.

If you're having trouble tracking down these materials, we again recommend using the Sheikah Sensor to learn exactly where these materials are.

Certain challenges will reward you with rare materials the first time you complete them.

Finally, you'll need to complete the challenge, A Royal Investigation, to earn the last five Terrako Components.

A Royal Investigation is a time limited and restricted allies challenge, which requires you to play through as Zelda with a recommended level of 61 for her.

For this reason, we recommend unlocking the majority of Zelda's attacks, hearts and levelling her up past the recommended level to ensure you can easily complete this challenge.

Terrako's Return in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity explained

Once you've collected 50 Terrako Components in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, you'll be able to complete the quest, Terrako's Return.

All you need to do is select this quest from the map and agree to use all 50 Terrako Components.

You'll now be treated to the game's secret ending and, once it's finished playing, Terrako will unlock as a playable character.

Enjoy bringing pain to the forces of Calamity Ganon as this tiny little robot!
