Fortnite - Alien egg locations: How to mark an alien egg explained

Noted.

Wondering where to find and how to mark an alien egg in Fortnite? Don't fret, as this guide covers everything you need to know.

Mark an alien egg is the second of Week 7's legendary quests in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7.

Since this is a legendary quest, you must complete it before the next set appears or you won't be able to collect the XP it earns. This quest also continues the alien invasion storyline, starting with the task to construct a wooden hatchery, allows you to complete the next challenge - collect records from Pleasant Park or Craggy Cliffs.

Completing this challenge will reward you with 30k XP, which will help you unlock more Battle Stars for the Season 7 battle pass.

Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What's new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include the Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection and Eren Jaeger skin. It's a good idea to know how to get XP fast in Fortnite.

How to mark an alien egg in Fortnite

If you've been playing throughout the season, you surely have noticed alien eggs in various spots of the battle royale map.

These are growing in numbers, and thus it'll be easier to stumble upon them, which is great for this challenge. But, since we want to optimize time as much as possible, there is a perfect spot to do this.

There are plenty of alien eggs in Holly Hatchery, but the area is bound to be crowded by other players.

The quest hub will recommend you to head to Holly Hatchery, but considering that alien eggs only take a few seconds to burst open as soon as somebody gets near them, a location like it isn't ideal.

Instead, head slightly south of the centre of the map:

Once you arrive (we recommend jumping from the battle bus and land here directly), all you have to do is look for one of the alien eggs, and keep your distance.

From afar, just aim at the alien egg and mark it using Fortnite's pings (if you're using a controller, just press left on the D-Pad).

That is all! You only need to mark one alien egg, so once you're settled, feel free to stay for the rest of the match or exit to the lobby to jump to the next challenge. You can now go ahead and collect records from Pleasant Park or Craggy Cliffs.
